Inspiring learning

Funds raised at the Scarborough Art Show each year have contributed to the establishment and funding of our Art and Literacy program, which is run by local artist and University Lecturer, Gabrielle Adamik. This excellent program has inspired our students to take risks with their learning and to embrace a world where the process of investigating, discussing and making is seen as more valuable than the final products themselves. The exposure to a broad range of vocabulary and language through a creative program of this nature develops the capacity of our students to communicate across all curriculum areas. 

In recent years, our students have had the opportunity to work on the following projects:

• Clay pottery and glazing

• Glasswork

• Mural design

• Graffiti art

• Fashion design

• Screen and block printing

• 3D animal design
